How to Soundproof Walls

To successfully soundproof a wall you need to add significant density and ensure all gaps are sealed. 

Our Barrierboard composite gyprock product has been designed to maximise sound reduction between rooms and the outdoors.  Barrierboard together with our acoustic insulations can improve a room’s acoustics by as much as 75%. 

Barrierboard can either be installed as a retrofit onto the existing wall or furring channels used so that acoustic insulation can be added between the primary and secondary walls. Wall depth loss would be either 32mm or 60mm if using furring channels.
