What’s the difference between soundproofing and sound absorption?

Soundproofing prevents noise from getting through walls, while sound absorption reduces echo and reverberation within a room. If you can hear noise from outside or other rooms, you need soundproofing. If your room is echoey or conversations are hard to understand, you need sound absorption. Sound absorption will reduce the intensity of sounds which reduces the amount exiting a space.

How much coverage do I need for my space?

This depends on your room size, existing surfaces, and how much acoustic improvement you need. As a general rule, you typically need to cover 40-60% coverage of ceiling surface for noticeable improvement. We provide specific coverage recommendations during consultation.

Can I install these products myself?

Many of our absorption products are designed for easy installation using adhesives or simple mounting hardware. Fabric panels with two-point mounting and ceiling tiles are commonly DIY projects. Large commercial installations often benefit from professional installation.
