How we Helped Solve a Noisy Dog Kennel
At Rocky Ridge Pet Resort on the Central Coast, NSW, Soundblock Solutions was asked to help reduce the dog barking in their indoor kennels.
The noise was deafening. Lots of hard reflective surfaces ensured the dog barking noise bounced around making the indoor kennel extremely uncomfortable and stressful for staff and most likely the pets too.
Stratocell Whisper acoustic panels were installed on the upper walls and placed in a pattern that allowed for light and ventilation over the top of the kennels, approximately at the halfway point, creating an almost perfectly positioned ceiling raft to absorb sound energy, reduce reflections, and significantly improve sound quality.

How we Helped Solve the Noise Problem at Wollondilly Leisure Centre, Picton, NSW
At the Wollondilly Community Leisure Centre in Picton, up to 500 people can use the pool at any one time. Noise levels can reach ear-splitting extremes. With five swim classes running simultaneously, the reverberant acoustics made it almost impossible for instructors to communicate with students and parents – voices were lost in a wall of sound, creating a frustrating and potentially unsafe environment.
Soundblock Solutions solved the problem by installing 100 panels of Stratocell Whisper® at strategic points throughout the indoor pool area. The lightweight polyethylene foam panels absorb sound energy, reduce echo and eliminate reverberation – without the deterioration issues of older fabric banners.
The results were immediate and measurable: reverberation response times dropped from 4 seconds to just 0.6 seconds. Staff, swimmers and parents noticed the difference straight away, with the Centre’s swim school manager describing the pool complex as now being “an enjoyable recreational facility.”
